This Wednesday, 40 children from the Parish Community will be receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist. First Eucharist is a special occasion - a further step in becoming one with Christ and united with the People of God. Pope Benedict XVI when speaking of his memories of his First Communion said, “I understood that Jesus had entered my heart, he had actually visited me. And with Jesus, God himself was with me. And I realised that this is a gift of love that is truly worth more than all the other things that life can give.” Please keep the children in your prayers and pray that in receiving Holy Communion for the first time, that it will be the beginning of a lifelong friendship with Jesus, the beginning of a journey they take together for evermore. May we all be transformed as ‘the Body of Christ’.
