SEA SUNDAY - DAY OF PRAYER FOR SEAFARERS

Seafarers in our ports arrive as strangers in a foreign land. They are also our neighbours who lead dangerous working lives. The Samaritan helped the stranger. We are called to... “Go and Do Likewise” (Luke 10:37) Today is Sea Sunday, when the church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Without them, we would not have most of the items we rely on for daily living. Even during a pandemic, seafarers continue to bring into our ports products that sustain our population and economy. The Appeal today is for Stella Maris, Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church. Stella Maris cares for the spiritual, social and material welfare of seafarers globally, regardless of colour, race or creed. To assist this ministry there will be a retiring collection or you may send your donations to: https://stellamarisaustralia.org/sea-sunday- appeal/
