THE MONTH OF MARY AND THE HOLY ROSARY

The month of October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. October includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7). Pope Leo asks everyone to pray the rosary each day throughout October for peace. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. The Luminous Mysteries highlight the "light of Christ" that fills the world through his actions, emphasising that he came to live and reveal God, not just to suffer and die. Perhaps throughout October, you might like to join the parishioners who come together to pray the Rosary at 10am each Monday at St Joseph’s.
