Every day, in popular media, and in public conversation, one hears the names, God and Jesus Christ , used as exclamations or even as profanity. We are proposing a small practice that Christians can adopt to help counter such trivialisation of the Lord’s name. If someone says profanely or casually, “Oh my God” , we can respond, “Have mercy” .
